Lent Day 34: 4/3/2017

It has been 34 days so I have a dozen more to go…not gonna lie…it is grinding on me and really getting tough.  I am not really hungry, but I just long to have some kind of flavor.  Plus, while the Josephsbrau Heller Bock from Trader Joe’s is not bad, when it’s the only beer I have drunk for 34 days, I am slightly getting tired of it.  Had the kids home sick today and we are under a tornado watch, so going to get off of this and pay attention to the weather.  It is nasty outside right now.

Until tomorrow…

Lent Days 32 and 33: April 1st & 2nd, 2017

Sorry about no update yesterday, but life as a parent just got in the way and I was too exhausted to write last night.  I started with taking my kids to their first ever soccer games.  My son’s team won, and he scored a goal in his first ever soccer game!  My daughter’s team did not win, but she hustled and played great and in the 2nd half they put her in at goalie and she only gave up 1 goal.  They were already down 3-0 after the 1st half.

Right after the soccer games, we had to rush home, get baths and get lunch done as my son had a 2.5 hour retreat at St. Matthew Catholic Church to go through his First Communion Retreat.  After that, it was time to get back home and go get the kids dinner for Date Night with my wife.  We went to Bonefish Grill and I got the Tilapia Imperial w/ garlic mashed potatoes, white truffle mac and cheese and a bowl of crab corn chowder.  I know it was too many calories, but it was really good.  After that, we went with friends to one of those Escape Rooms, but we didn’t escape.  A picture of my meal is included in this post.

As for today, Sunday, April 2, 2017, it was  typical day.  We went to Mass and then I kept the kids home so my wife could go out and do some shopping she needed to do.  I just chilled with the kids at home and once my wife got home, I ran out and bought her dinner.  It was  nice weekend,  The really cool thing is I am inside of 2 weeks left.  Only 13 days to go!!!

Lent Day 31: 3/31/2017

Today was more of taking care of my youngest, but thanks be to God, she has quickly rebounded.  Had to run a few errands today and this afternoon we took the kids for bike rides around the neighborhood.   That was a nice workout.  Tomorrow night is date night,  so I get to eat a meal!

Also, tomorrow,  we have the first soccer games for the kids and then my son has his retreat at church to prepare for his First Communion.   It’s going to be a day!

Until tomorrow…

Lent Day 30: 3/30/2017

Not a lot to report today.  My youngest daughter was home sick today with a fever and upset stomach.  I basically just cared to her all day.  I am tired and going to bed.  16 days to go!

One milestone reached today.  I did get all the remaining beer into the beer fridge to cool down.  The last 3 &1/2 12-packs have gone in…So, nothing is left on the garage floor waiting…

Until tomorrow…

Lent Day 29: 3/29/2017

Well…there it is, 247.8!  That’s 4 more pounds since last week and 30 total in 28 days!  I have 18 days to go and want to lose 10 more to pull off 40 pounds during Lent.
I know this week was a lower weight loss total, but considering I did no Yoga or Boot Camp because of my back pain, I am happy with it.

Until tomorrow…

Lent Day 28: 3/28/2017

It has been a very long day.  I had to drive over 200 miles roundtrip to go see a specialist for a medical thing.  2 hour drive…4 hours of tests…2 hour drive home…Very excited about tomorrow though…It’s a Wednesday, so of course, that means weigh-in day and pictures!
Until tomorrow…

Lent Days 26 and 27: 3/26/ 2017 and 3/27/2017

First off, sorry about no post yesterday.  It was a rough day and I never got a chance to write.  So, I’ll make up for that with a double post covering both days today.

3/26:  What an incredibly rough morning!  If you’ve ever heard of “Montezuma’s Revenge,” well, I was definitely suffering from it most of the morning.  I don’t know how many calories, if any, there are in Pepto Bismol, but I drank nearly half of a large bottle in the morning.  It was needed.  Amazingly enough, my stomach hurt all morning long until I got to church.  However, as soon as I said my prayer in the pew before Mass, everything was calm and my stomach didn’t hurt the rest of the day!

After church, we took the family to MooYah Burgers for lunch and of course I ate nothing.  The rest of the afternoon was doing errands and work around the house.  By the evening, I was just too tired.

3/27:  I woke up this morning and for the first time in a while, I have ZERO back pain.  I haven’t done the Yoga nor the Boot Camp DVD in close to a week, but my wife thinks that’s the key and I was really overworking myself.  She’s most likely right.  Today was just a lot of errands and then I did hitch my youngest daughter up to my bike with the brand new bike trailer and rode her around the neighborhood.  She loved it and I got really tired quickly.  I don’t think I’ve ridden my bike for at least 8 years!  Then the kids had Faith Formation tonight and after baths, here I am updating.

Well, that should bring you up to speed.  If you noticed, today was day 27…So, only 19 more to go!  It doesn’t seem like too many anymore since I am down into the teens!

Until tomorrow…
